The town of Sorano has developed in the middle ages on top of a low hill. The town was controlled by the powerful family Aldobrandeschi, which coat of arms is still carved on several buildings and fortress of the territory. The old town is characterized by tight alleys, courts, arches, decorated doors and cellars carved in tuff where in the past people used to stock wine and olive oil. These cellars are a unique reality in Italy and should be protected in the best way possible. It is located about 60 km from the Farmhouse Casa Ficulle.
