Isola del Giglio
Some archaeological findings testify the presence of men on the Island of Giglio since the Iron Age. Certainly the island was used as strategic military base by Etruscans and Romans, from which departing for other islands of the Mediterranean Sea. Famous as ideal place for diving, the islands is popular in every time of the year with professional and amateur sub. In the summer is instead assaulted by tourists looking for pace and tranquillity surrounded by nature in a pristine and relaxing environment. The three small towns of the island must be visited: Giglio Porto, Giglio Castello and Giglio Campese.
